iPhone developer IK Multimedia has announced the release of the first artist created GrooveMaker application for iPhone and iPod touch.
GrooveMaker Rock Ace by Skunk Anansie's guitarist Ace, offers users a chance to create music from a series of loops.
Having sold upwards of 5 million records, Skunk Anansie recently reformed to promote the Smashes and Trashes best of album.
"Anyone can now create and share non-stop metal and rock tracks for DJing, remixing, multimedia and movie soundtrack compositions on the go, in real-time, just like a professional DJ or rock producer," runs the GrooveMaker Rock Ace blurb.
According to the IK Multimedia, GrooveMaker Rock Ace offers:
- Instantaneous control over 8 stereo loop tracks- Play, mix and randomise loops on the fly- Combine studio-quality loops to produce millions of possible grooves- Manipulate loops in real time (pan, volume, mute, solo, group, tempo)- Arrange grooves easily with drag and drop to create full-length tracks- Save, preview and recall you mixed tracks- Upload your tracks as hi-quality .WAV file to your Mac/PC via Wi-fi- Interactive Help allows quick learning simply by following the indicated steps
