123-reg offers student website hosting on the cheap

123-reg, the largest domain provider in the UK and part of web host company Webfusion - is offering students a way to get an online presence for just 1 a month.

The new 123-reg student hosting microsite is based around a cheap and cheerful pound shop. "We all love a bargain - and over time we hope to be able to build the site in to a whole "shop" of special offers, promotions and bargains," the company notes.

"We are offering students the chance to get our Plus hosting package, as well as giving them a free .info domain for just 1 a month (plus VAT) - so they are saving a few quid and also getting access to the Microsoft Dreamspark programme at the same time - which offers them free software and apps."

The offer is being promoted directly to the student community but 123-reg are keen to get the message out to anyone who may have a son, daughter, relative or friend in higher education who can take advantage of the deal.

To qualify you will need a valid .ac.uk email account the company adds.

Based in Uxbridge, 123-reg offers a range of services including email, web hosting, domain names, SSL and the ability to quickly and effectively create your own website.
