TheMacBundles.com is "co-op for Mac developers"

A new developer scheme called TheMacBundles.com aims to give developers a chance to sell their software, while giving customers the chance to buy award-winning Mac software.

Bundle schemes are a popular event in the Mac community, with schemes such as Mac Heist and Mac Santa showing that unity amongst smaller developers leads to much more exposure than these developers would get individually.

Other bundle schemes are usually of a transient nature (there have been three Mac Heists; Mac Santa, as the name suggests is based around Christmas), and the bundles are often themed around raising money for charity

TheMacBundles.com aims to be an ongoing scheme that puts small developers at its heart. We caught up with Stephen Becker, Computing Consultant at MacEase who told us it would be a "co-op for developers." He explained: "there will be one bundle a month with eight products, and one bonus product. There will be no fillers, every product will be carefully selected"

The first bundle is now available and contains nine Mac OS X titles for just $49.95 (30.47). The titles include:

- Cover Stream - Default Folder X - DragThing - GraphicConverter - HoudahSpot - iPrint - Mariner Write - Spell Catcher X

If TheMacBundles.com is successful the collection of software will change every month, and regular customers get the chance to earn discounts on the bundles.

While many of the schemes do some really great work for charity, they don't allow developers the chance to really benefit from the bundle scheme. TheMacBundles.com is more about giving independent developers a chance to benefit from their products. And customers get the value of a bundle of software on a regular basis.
