Author Dan Lyons, the man behind the popular 'Fake Steve' blog has added fuel to fire surrounding rumours of ill health affecting the real Apple CEO.
Lyons claims to have learned that Jobs is suffering from some form of chronic condition which has not improved since he appeared at WWDC. ""I can’t really get into this," says Lyons, "but people close to him have been saying for quite a while (before the appearance onstage) that he’s really sick. And someone who saw him last week says he still looks like [expletive]."
Many observers notices that Jobs seemed thinner than usual at WWDC, which immediately generated a batch of rumours claiming the company boss may be enduring new health problems. Apple categorised the problem as a common bug for which the CEO was taking medication, and said Job's health is a private matter.
Why Lyons has relaunched these rumours is open to debate. Jobs last month contacted a New York Times reporter to say: "This is Steve Jobs. You think I’m an arrogant [expletive] who thinks he’s above the law, and I think you’re a slime bucket who gets most of his facts wrong."
Jobs proceeded to explain his problem (off the record) which the reporter then described as "not life-threatening".
