Spore for iPhone ships on Friday

Hotly awaited Mac/iPod/iPhone game, Spore, seems set to launch this Friday.

Electric Pig reports on a talk held at the Apple retail store on Regent Street today, during which Spore creator and Sim City genius Will Wright confirmed the iPhone version of Spore would go live on Apple’s app store this Friday.

While first announced in 2005 development of the game actually tool seven years. It takes players through the process of evolution, from simple cell-like creatures into advanced beings, capable of space travel.

The iPhone version is just one of the iterations of the title. “It has nice graphics, and feel-good music, but it’s not the whole game,” Wright explained. “It’s just the Cell Stage, but I’ve been told the game will be going live on the App Store this Friday," he told Electric Pig.
