Apple delays shipment of 17-inch MacBook Pro

Apple planned to ship the 17-inch MacBook Pro by the end of January, but the notebook’s release has been delayed.

The company confirmed the delay for Macworld on Wednesday.

“Wrapping up the new 17-inch MacBook Pro is taking a few days longer than we expected, and we now expect to begin shipments in mid-February,” Apple spokesman Bill Evans told Macworld.

Apple introduced the 17-inch MacBook Pro at Macworld Expo in January.

In addition to getting the same unibody enclosure shared by the rest of the company’s notebooks, the 17-inch also picked up a unique long-lasting battery.

The notebook features a 1,920 x 1,200 LED-backlit display that comes with a glossy display.

For an additional price, users can opt for an anti-glare option.

The 17-inch MacBook Pro starts at 1,949.
