Actor, comedian, author, television presenter, Mac enthusiast and Twitter fan Stephen Fry has announced his Regent Street Apple Store appearance tonight has been postponed due to the bad weather.
Fry posted the following on his Twitter page this afternoon.
“Apple Event in Regent Street is off. Tentative attempt to rearrange for tomorrow but aware that forecast not good. Will keep you posted x.”
The free Meet the Author event was to be held between 7pm and 8pm tonight when Fry had planned to discuss and promote his latest audiobook, Stephen Fry Presents a Selection of Oscar Wilde's Short Stories, a two-hour plus recording available from the Apple iTunes store.
Heavy snow has fallen across large parts of the UK, with London transport devastated by the worst snow seen in the capital for 18 years.
Transport For London suspended all bus services in London last night on the grounds of safety, while travellers were asked to avoid unnecessary journeys, leading to fears that few Fry fans would be able to the attend the Regent Street Apple Store event.
The Regent Street store offers a range of free events across the week with the Gadget Show’s Jason Bradbury due to promote his techno-thriller Dot Robot on Thursday 5 February.
When Fry finally makes it to the Apple Store, his appearance will also be available on the iTunes Stores as part of the Meet the Author podcast series.
