Apple opens second-hand Mac shop in China

Apple has launched an online shop selling second-hand Apple products in China.

The store is offering discounts on Apple products at up to 22 per cent on various refurbished products, reports Reuters citing Apple.

Apple products, including iMacs and iPod shuffles, are the ones returned to the company within the initial 30 days of sale and come with a limited warranty having been tested first by Apple.

The move is believed to be an attempt to combat the significant number of fake Apple goods already sold in China.

"We kicked off the campaign at the end of last year," said Huang Yuna, Apple's spokeswoman in China. She declined to give a figure of total used products available.

Apple has offered refurbished products in various countries for some time including the UK where Apple maintains online stores selling Macs and iPods.
