app4mac introduces SecretBox, updates Sequence

app4mac has introduced a new Mac application in SecretBox 1.0 and significantly updated a second, Sequence to 2.0.

SecretBox is billed as a place to store all your secrets on your Mac, or at the very least important documents including credit card details, software licenses, email account details, product registration codes and serial numbers.

SecretBox uses the industry standard 256-bit AES encryption to protect your data, with the ability to encrypt the entire data file in one simple step.

Based on SecretBook source code purchased from BookShelfApps, SecretBox features an updated user interface, template management and more import possibilities.

A version for iPhone is promised around 24 March on the iTunes Store, which will allow you to sync your database with the Mac version.

SecretBox costs 19€, around 17, while existing SecretBook users are entitled to a 50 per cent price cut.

Sequence 2.0 meanwhile is a screenshot and screencast utility that let's you capture images, video and audio from your Mac in the format of your choice.

Using a multithreaded code and a 64-bit enabled compression system, Sequence can handle capturing DVD, audio, or any other multimedia application says app4mac.

Sequence is powerful enough to simultaneously record from your webcam and your screen. With the voice recording function, you can describe what you are doing on your screen, by simply using your Mac's built-in microphone.

Sequence supports saving screenshots as BMP, PICT, GIF, JPG, PNG, TIFF and PDF files.

New in version 2.0 is an improved user interface, improved performance, better audio recording, the ability to draw doodles while recording, selection mode and general bug fixes.

Sequence 2.0 costs 19€, around 17, updates are free.
