The hotly anticipated Metal Gear Solid for iPhone and iPod touch will finally be released next week according to makers Konami.
The game is based on Konami's international hit Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, is a stylish over-the-shoulder shooter will be released on 19 March, both in the US and Japan, and hopefully UK.
"Wage battle using intuitive touch-based shooting controls. Solid Snake's final battle recreated on the battlefield of your 3.5in widescreen display," runs the official Konami website blurb.
Priced at $9.99, it's likely to command a premium price in the UK Apple iTunes App Store.
This month Konami, home of hit titles such as Metal Gear Solid, Frogger, Dance Dance Revolution, Silent Hill and Pro Evolution, celebrates 40 years in business.
Konami’s line-up for 2009 includes Job Island: Hard Working People, Castlevania: Judgement, and Pro Evo 2009 on the Nintendo Wii.
