Adobe intros Pixel Bender Technology Center

Adobe Systems has opened a new dedicated Pixel Bender Technology Center, highlighting the technology intended to be used in a number of Adobe products.

According to John Nack on Adobe, Pixel Bender technology enables fast, GPU- and multicore-savvy filters to run in Photoshop, Flash, and After Effects, delivering a common image and video processing infrastructure which provides automatic runtime optimisation.

According to the Principal Product Manager, Adobe Photoshop, the site provides one-stop access to a large variety of resources, including the chance to download the Pixel Bender plug-in for Photoshop CS4.

Adobe introduced a new version of the Pixel Bender Toolkit in April 2009, offering the ability to edit, compile and run Pixel Bender Graphs supported in Photoshop and After Effects.

The Pixel Bender Toolkit includes the Pixel Bender kernel language and graph language, the Pixel Bender Toolkit IDE (an integrated development environment for Pixel Bender), sample filters, and documentation.
