O2 has announced it will be offering a home phone service to its broadband customers.
The 'Evening & Weekend' package costs just 9.50 per month and offers unlimited calls to UK landlines on evenings and weekends, while the 'Anytime' deal is priced at 12.50 per month and offers any time, unlimited calls to UK landlines, 0845/0870 numbers and international call to more than 20 countries.
Both packages include the line rental and means O2 customers can get broadband and a home phone line on the ‘Evening & Weekend' package for 17 per month.
"This is the most important launch for us in the home space since we entered the broadband market and is part of our strategy to evolve beyond mobile to a leading connectivity brand," said Sally Cowdry, UK marketing director, O2.
"We know how many of our customers value the convenience of paying for their home phone and broadband together with no hidden extra costs, and we will be bringing the same commitment to quality of service with our home phone service as we have successfully established with broadband."
Services such as voicemail, call waiting and ring back will be available as Bolt Ons for an additional monthly fee.
